Is this judge completely mad? Has any consideration been given to this poor
kid when he grows up and has to start showing his birth certificate in order to obtain other documents? On top of all the teasing and embarrassment he'll suffer as the kid having '2 dads', now he'll be subjected to further humiliation the rest of his life. Gays should stop this nonsense of wanting to play house by using real children. If they want something to take care of, they should just get a cat. http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/...s/6183454.html Judge: 2 adoptive dads can be named on birth certificate NEW ORLEANS - A same-sex couple in California has won a federal court ruling that their adopted son's Louisiana birth certificate must bear the names of both adoptive fathers. The facts are so clear that no trial is needed, U.S. District Judge Jay Zainey wrote. "What a great Christmas present for these guys!" said Kenneth D. Upton Jr. who represented Oren Adar and Mickey Ray Smith of San Diego. In his ruling Monday, Zainey said Louisiana's Office of Vital Records must give full faith and credit to the New York State court in which Adar and Smith adopted the boy, he ruled Monday. The office had refused to issue a birth certificate listing both as the boy's legal parents. Upton, reached at home Saturday evening, said he hopes to get a birth certificate in the coming week but doesn't know whether the Louisiana Attorney General's Office - which is in charge, although a state health department attorney argued the case - will decide to appeal. The attorney general's office will look into the matter next week, said Tammi Arender Herring, spokeswoman for Attorney General James "Buddy" Caldwell. -- -- J Young Jvisions@live.com From: "LC" <LC_____@hotmail.com> Date: Fri, 19 Dec 2008 14 17 -0600http://groups.google.com/group/alt.a...ee8bf7716f90f6 LC ~ "Tell a lie often enough, loud enough, and long enough and people will believe you." |

Folks made fun of interfaith marriages. Folks made fun of different-social-class marriages. Folks made fun of kids whose mothers were in the military. Folks made fun of those kids whose fathers were janitors, garbage collectors, painters, poets, disabled, short, of the "wrong" faith, and various and sundry other things. He'll be made fun of because he's adopted. Big whoop-d-do. Have you no respect of tradition? Children -- and yes, you count as one -- make fun of others for insubstantial reasons. You would end that? Tell me another one... > Gays should stop this nonsense of wanting to play house by using real > children. If they want something to take care of, they should just get a > cat. I mean "the nerve!" Providing for an orphan! Have they no shame?!? They're caring for a child that some heterosexual tossed aside!
